Tania is an NHS doctor with medicine, science and counselling degrees; a former UN refugee worker, local councillor and MP for Twickenham from 2015 to 2017. In Parliament, she chose to make her maiden speech in the debate on Climate Change. She was then elected as a member and interim chair of the House of Commons Science and Technology Select Committee and was the only MP in that Parliament, in 2017, to directly challenge the then Prime Minister on our preparedness for a pandemic. Throughout and after her time in Parliament she has advocated data and evidence in the inter-dependent goals to decrease pollution, improve health, and promote our economy with support for businesses, particularly in science and technology. In the post-pandemic peak period Tania believes there will be a mandate for the Conservative Party to strengthen its good record and action on climate change and the environment - a record she dates from the 1989 speech of the Conservative parliamentarian and scientist: Margaret Thatcher.
